Uses of Carbimazole tablets:

Methimazole stop thyroid per oxidase enzyme from coupling and coordinating the tyrosine residues on tyro globulin, hence decreasing the production of the thyroid hormones T4 and T3. Carbimazole tablets can be used alone or together with any other treatments for hyperthyroidism. It is also used as treatment to ready a person for thyroidectomy i.e., surgical removal of part or all the thyroid gland, and before any radio-iodine treatment.
